Dam & Lock Grease is a mixture of 100% hydrophobic synthetic fluids and proprietary mixed base thickeners. Dam & Lock Grease is designed for use on equipment operating in extremely severe water environments where biodegradability and non-bioaccumulation are an environmental concern. Each individual component that makes up this unique grease has a USDA-H1 approval rating, and is acceptable for use in lubricating grease, which would have incidental food contact, or potable water use.
Dam & Lock Grease is designed to absorb a controlled amount of water that causes the grease to “heavy-up,” providing self-sealing protection and prevention of water washout. Special compounding provides anti-seize characteristics and acid and corrosion resistance. Especially useful in preventing “cold welding” of parts experiencing full load under static or lay-up conditions.
Its designed use is for reversing and slow speed large diameter rolling element bearings, open gears, eccentrics, linear and oscillating mechanisms, sliding surfaces, ways, guides, cables as well as bushings, journals and hinge pins. Also, gears, pumps, valves and packing boxes operating under wet conditions.
